A guided accompaniment takes visitors through the permanent exhibition at the Tränenpalast in Berlin. It is offered by the Stiftung Haus der Geschichte and uses biographical cases and original objects in the former departure hall at the Friedrichstraße border crossing to show how the division of Germany affected people's lives. The tour addresses how people left or fled the GDR and what travellers from East and West went through during the border procedures here.
