About
Film records from the holdings of the Landesarchiv Berlin show the history of the Berlin Wall from 1961 to its fall in 1989 in rarely seen images, many of which are part of the UNESCO Memory of the World. The historian and deputy Berlin commissioner for reappraisal Jens Schöne, the director of the Landesarchiv Berlin Sven Kriese and the BAB education officer Anna Kokenge comment on the footage and explain its historical background. A subsequent panel discussion explores the significance of these film records for remembering Germany's division. Carmen Schwietzer, deputy director of the Landesarchiv Berlin, hosts the evening.
