TVTV_On Display #22 presents „LOTUS EFFECT#06“, a video installation by German-Iranian director and media artist Nazgol Emami, curated by Amirali Ghasemi. The work is part of an ongoing artistic project initiated in response to the Zan, Zendegi, Azadi („Woman, Life, Freedom“) movement in Iran in 2022. Using found footage and sound material sourced primarily from social media, it explores contemporary forms of protest and resistance and their connections to global political and economic power structures. Images of closed bazaars, oil pumps and people dancing evoke economic resistance and peaceful defiance, while the lotus plant serves as a metaphor for resilience and regeneration, inviting viewers to reflect on their own position as witnesses.
