The exhibition "Weil wir Frauen sind." presents stories of Afghan women's rights activists about courage and resistance. It is a show about and with activists who fought together with the women's rights organisation medica mondiale e.V. for more than 20 years against structures hostile to women. After the Taliban seized power again in August 2021, medica mondiale managed to support the evacuation of all 90 of its Afghan colleagues and their families. Twenty of them now tell their stories in a multimedia exhibition with photos, videos, audios and interviews about their lives, their flight and their exile in Germany – experienceable on site and digitally.
