"Verglühende Landschaften - Von Ost nach Jetzt" is a memory performance about Anja, born and raised in the GDR, who lost her familiar world when reunification came in 1989, when she was fifteen. She became a punk, fell in love with her first girlfriend and experienced the so-called baseball bat years of the 1990s first hand. The production by bandentheater, conceived and directed by Anika Lachnitt with performer Anja Gessenhardt, tells of new beginnings and loss, of flag ceremonies and neo-Nazi violence. It is spoken theatre with acrobatics on the Chinese pole, live music and video installation about identity, forgetting and the question of who you are when where you come from suddenly becomes history.
