About
A talk in the research colloquium »Künste und Kulturen der Frühen Neuzeit« at the Kunsthistorisches Institut of Freie Universität Berlin. Lisa Jordan of the Institute of Art History at LMU Munich examines Guercino's drawn metaphors of the everyday, asking how the everyday and the comic in Guercino's work become carriers of meaning. The starting point is a printed trompe-l'oeil from the second half of the 17th century that gathers Guercino drawings as a fictive collage and embeds them in a discourse of virtue and conduct. The talk is also part of her doctoral project on Guercino's autonomous, profane-comic drawings.
