About
»Warm Data« is an Expanded Cinema performance that leads with black-and-white film material into the busy streets of Toronto. The artist and filmmaker Natalia Kozieł-Kalliomäki manually intervenes in the projection of the 16mm film with live animations. Using two overhead projectors, paper silhouettes and a variety of filters, overlays of colour, textures and fascinating patterns emerge. This creates a dense visual narrative that counters the sober model-like conception of the world offered by quantitative data ("cold data") with an idiosyncratic aesthetic approach to the system of the city.
