About
A two-day conference with talks, discussions, lecture performances and a film programme, part of the exhibition „Metaxy : Zwischen Zerstörung und Wiederaufbau“. It examines the international media reception of postwar modernism during the Cold War, starting from reporting on the Karl-Marx-Allee in former East Berlin and the buildings of the Interbau 1957 in former West Berlin. A research project by Dr. Sandra Wagner-Conzelmann, Dr. Thomas Flierl, Dr. Paul Sigel and Robert K. Huber studied coverage in ten countries, and the conference presents the partly surprising findings. The programme is complemented by a film programme curated by Florian Wüst and a lecture performance by the Ukrainian group DENEDE.
