About
"Why Art?" is a public talk series by the Berlin University of the Arts during the winter semester 2026/27. On six Tuesday evenings, two guests each from art, politics, society, science or cultural practice give short impulses followed by a discussion, moderated by members of the university community. The series asks how the necessity of art and artistic training can be justified today – amid political polarisation, artificial intelligence and digitalisation. It sees itself as an open forum for reflection and exchange between artists, scholars, students and the public.
