Wetten, dass. Die Suche nach dem Wir
Deutsches Theater, Schumannstraße 13a, 10117 Berlin, Mitte
About
A world-premiere theatre production called "Wetten, dass. Die Suche nach dem Wir" that traces the phenomenon of collective experience in German television culture. Behind it is the European theatre collective BOYS* IN SYNC, together with DT jung*. The production looks back at the show "Wetten, dass..?", which for decades was a West German Saturday-evening ritual that brought together provincial life and world celebrities on the same couch for a few hours. With the decline of linear television, its promise of a shared present faded, turning shared amazement into remembering.
