Women, Peace and Security – Zwischen Friedenssicherung und Geschlechtergerechtigkeit

The Schwarzkopf-Stiftung Junges Europa invites to a discussion event on the UN agenda “Women, Peace and Security”. The guest is Birgit Pickel, head of the department for Sustainable Development and Climate at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. The topic is the implementation of UN Resolution 1325, the participation of women in peace processes and feminist development policy in practice. Among other questions, it discusses how development cooperation can stabilise conflict regions and how gender equality contributes to lasting peace.
