The Sugar Kings Duo + Free late set with LOUISE MESSENGER

A live music night at the bar Nightjar, built around a Cuban trio set followed by a free late set. The Sugar Kings Cuban Trio, featuring Flavio Correa on percussion & vocals, Elpidio Caicedo on baby bass & vocals and Daniel Carnago Cuban on tres guitar & vocals, play son Cubano, vintage mambo and cha cha cha inspired by pre-revolution Havana. From 11.30 pm there is a free Thursday Throwdown set, and Louise Messenger, an acclaimed Australian-born jazz vocalist now based in London, performs with her swinging quartet, interpreting standards and lesser-known gems from the classic American Songbook, inspired by Carmen McRae, Ella Fitzgerald, Keely Smith and the Boswell Sisters. A cover charge of £6 applies.
