About
A chamber music concert pairing violin sonatas with a solo violin piece, lasting about two hours with an interval. The programme is Beethoven's Violin Sonata No. 5 in F 'Spring', Ravel's Violin Sonata No. 2 in G, Bach's Chaconne from Partita No. 2 in D minor, and Saint-Saëns's emotionally-charged Violin Sonata No. 1. It is performed by the American violinist Joshua Bell, an honorary CBE recipient who made his concerto debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra 45 years ago, with pianist Peter Dugan. The concert takes place at Wigmore Hall and is supported by the Rubinstein Circle.
