About

A chamber concert at Wigmore Hall, part of violist Timothy Ridout's Viola Day, lasting about one hour without interval. Six violists — Timothy Ridout, Hélène Clément, Ting-Ru Lai, Matthew Lipman, Eivind Ringstad and Georgy Kovalev — perform with pianist James Baillieu. The programme opens with Alessandro Rolla's Viola Duo in F, continues with Beethoven's Trio in C Op. 87 arranged for three violas by Lionel Tertis, Alan Shulman's Theme and Variations, and Dvořák's Czech Suite Op. 39 in Sancho Engaño's arrangement. The concert is supported by The Tertis Foundation in memory of Lillian Tertis.
