Botanical Art: Painting & Drawing
Landmark Arts Centre, Ferry Road, TW11 9NN Teddington, Ham
About
Botanical Art: Painting & Drawing is a weekly art class teaching the techniques of creating botanical art through painting and drawing. It is led by Marcia Hughes, a botanical artist and watercolour painter, self-taught and an elected member of the Society of Women Artists, who has taught at the Landmark Arts Centre and in adult education for many years. Students learn to make accurate pencil outlines of subjects such as flowers, leaves, vegetables and berries, mix colours for natural hues, apply tonal values, create even watercolour washes and correct mistakes, receiving both individual and group tuition. The Tuesday afternoon session from 2 to 4:30pm is for complete beginners and those wanting to improve or revise skills, running in a six-week block from 3 November to 8 December 2026 in the accessible Bell Room.
