About
Character Encounters are free, family-friendly performances in which a costumed figure from maritime history tells their story as you tour the museum. The National Maritime Museum runs them every Saturday, each time featuring a different character. On 31 October you can meet Alice the Pirate, a woman disguised as a man aboard a pirate ship, who talks about life at sea in the Golden Age of Piracy. The tours are suitable for all ages and offer an interactive introduction to the museum's galleries.
