About
A two-show evening of duo improvisation at Vortex Jazz Club, with pianist Craig Taborn and trumpeter Peter Evans, each set played once per slot. The pair are described as groundbreaking pioneers of the New York avant-garde. Taborn is hailed as a 'visionary of the current wave' (Downbeat) for a concentrated style exploring the piano's tones and overtones in their smallest details, with his latest solo release 'Shadow Plays'. Evans, a composer, trumpeter, improvisor and bandleader in New York City since 2003, works across a wide range of modern musical practices, committed to improvisation as a compositional tool.
