About

SPACE TRIO is a jazz trio playing one set of live music at the Vortex, working in the open territory between jazz and free improvisation. Trumpeter Loz Speyer leads the group with Josh Vadiveloo on double bass and Andrew Lisle on drum kit, all three Hackney-based musicians. The trio performs Speyer's own compositions alongside pieces by free jazz masters such as Ornette Coleman, Don Cherry and Johnny Dyani, and by Speyer's former colleague Tony Bianco. SPACE TRIO grew out of Speyer and Lisle's work together in improvisational projects and continues his many years of exploring the trumpet-bass-drums format.
