About

An intimate masterclass titled 'The Singing Violin' in which violinist Kala Ramnath demonstrates her gayaki-ang style, showing how bow, breath and voice merge into a single musical language. She shares her technique, from bow control as an extension of breath to ornaments like meend and gamak built into full alaap, taans and bandish elaboration. The class, part of Darbar Festival 2026, is open to all instrumentalists and vocalists, with notations shared ahead of the session.
