About
A talk exploring the relationship between colonialism and visual culture, tracing how structures of power have been represented within the Wallace Collection and beyond, and how some contemporary artists respond to these legacies. It is held at the museum's Theatre and broadcast live online, with live captions by Stagetext. The speaker is Alisha O'Brien-Coker, curatorial assistant for Modern British Art at Tate Britain and an MA History of Art student at UCL, who previously worked at the Wallace Collection and trained as a curatorial fellow at New Curators. The talk forms part of Black History Month.
