Eyes Wide Shut

About
A screening of the film 'Eyes Wide Shut'. Stanley Kubrick's daring last film is a compelling psychosexual journey, a haunting dreamscape and a riveting tale of suspense, starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. Cruise plays Dr William Hartford, who plunges into an erotic foray that threatens his marriage and may ensnare him in a lurid murder mystery after his wife's admission of sexual longings. As the story sweeps from doubt and fear to self-discovery and reconciliation, Kubrick orchestrates it with masterful flourishes.

Critics
7.4Very good
Critics praise the hypnotic atmosphere, Kubrick's striking imagery and the intense performances, especially Kidman's monologue. They fault the slow pacing, a weaker second half and, at times, a stiff lead performance.
