About
Fantastic Planet is a 1973 animated film. It was directed by René Laloux and stars Gérard Hernandez, Jean Valmont and Jennifer Drake. On the planet Ygam, the technologically and spiritually advanced blue humanoids called Draags treat the tiny Oms, human beings descended from Terra's inhabitants, as ignorant animals. Oms living in slavery are kept as pets for Draag children, while those hidden in the wilderness are periodically hunted and slaughtered as vermin.

Critics
7.4Very good
Critics admire the film's unique, surreal animation style and its imaginative, politically resonant imagery, calling it unlike anything else. Faults are few, though some find the story weak and the film self-consciously pretentious.
