A family Halloween storytelling session in the walled Chelsea Physic Garden, where winding paths lead past tangled vines, peculiar fruits and cobwebs strung between the branches. Storytellers Bernadette Russell or Rez Kabir lead a magical adventure seeking out the plants of spells and potions and the folklore hidden among their leaves, from witches' flying ointment to why you should never pull up a mandrake. The walk goes through the fern glasshouses to the cosy Enchanted Cottage for spooky tales of curious creatures, brave heroes and troublesome spells. The event lasts about 45 minutes, takes place in different locations throughout the Garden whatever the weather, and dressing up is warmly encouraged.
