About
Hamlet Hail to the Thief is a unique theatrical experience that retells Shakespeare's greatest tragedy through theatre, music and movement, with Shakespeare's words illuminated by Radiohead's music. It was co-created by Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke together with directors Steven Hoggett and Christine Jones, with the album Hail to the Thief re-worked by Yorke and performed live by a cast of musicians and actors. The fast-paced distillation of the play follows the Prince of Denmark, charged with revenge against his uncle by the ghost of his murdered father, and features Samuel Blenkin as Hamlet, Ami Tredrea as Ophelia, Paul Hilton as Claudius/Ghost and Claudia Harrison as Gertrude. Following sold-out runs at the Royal Shakespeare Company and Aviva Studios, the production runs for 1 hour 40 minutes without an interval.
