About

A concert performance of Ambroise Thomas's opera Hamlet, sung in French with English surtitles. The Chelsea Opera Group chorus and orchestra perform it, conducted by Jonathon Cole-Swinard in his debut with the group, with Jacques Imbrailo as Hamlet and Haegee Lee as Ophélie. The opera, first premiered in Paris in 1868, sweeps darkly and splendidly through Shakespeare's famous tragedy. It is a rare chance to hear a 19th-century dramatic gem, with a pre-concert talk before the performance.
