About

Idris Ackamoor & The Pyramids, the spiritual Afro-Jazz originators, play a live concert at The Jazz Cafe. Formed in 1972, The Pyramids remain one of the last surviving bridges between spiritual jazz's radical past and its expanding future. Under Idris Ackamoor's direction, the ensemble evolved into a transcontinental group rooted in rhythm, liberation, and collective improvisation. Their live performances channel the same exploratory spirit that continues to shape contemporary jazz, experimental music, and Afro-diasporic sound culture across generations.
