About

Jesus Christ Superstar is an epic rock opera performed live at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in the West End, returning to London for the first time since 2019. It was created by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, is directed by Tim Sheader, and stars Eurovision singer-songwriter Sam Ryder in his West End debut as Jesus. The show follows the last week of Jesus's life leading up to his crucifixion, focusing on his relationships with Judas Iscariot and Mary Magdalene and the politics of the time, and blends biblical history with a modern musical.
