- £18
About
A lunchtime song recital titled 'Over My Head' at Wigmore Hall, lasting about an hour without an interval. Countertenor John Holiday, called 'one of the finest countertenors of his generation' by the Los Angeles Times, is joined by pianist Kevin Miller. The programme, based on Holiday's first full-length solo album, spans spirituals, standards including 'Fly Me to the Moon' and 'Summertime', songs by Hall Johnson, H Leslie Adams and Theodore Morrison, and first-ever recordings of songs by Carlos Simon. Some pieces are arranged by Holiday himself, who also accompanies himself at the piano.
