About
"Journeys into the Unseen Forest" is an exhibition of new paintings by Sylvain Lefebvre. It presents an imagined journey into an untouched forest, with invented but plausible tree species that may exist in undiscovered corners of the world or be trees of the future. The artist worked during the hottest summer on record in the South of France, where heatwaves and wildfires led him to explore through his imagination a forest untouched by humans. Framed as an expedition led by Professor Charles Gulliver Watson, who names each tree he sees, the show invites reflection on our impulse to discover, name and control the natural world.
