K-culture: Korea at the British Museum
British Museum, Great Russell Street, WC1B 3DG London, Bloomsbury
£18
About
An exhibition at the British Museum exploring 2,000 years of Korean creativity through sculpture, painting and decorative arts, from around 300 BC to the present day. It draws almost exclusively from the 23,000 works bequeathed in 2021 by the late Samsung Group Chairman Lee Kun-Hee to the National Museum of Korea and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea. The show presents the most comprehensive chronological survey of Korean visual and material culture seen in Europe for over 40 years, including many National Treasures or Treasures. Most of the objects, from ancient gold ornaments to contemporary works, have never been seen in the UK before.
