About
A documentary about Keith Jarrett's legendary 1975 concert in Cologne, whose recording became the best-selling solo jazz album ever made, followed by an online Q&A. Director Vincent Duceau retraces the performance that almost didn't happen, hindered by a problematic piano and an exhausted musician. Through an investigation into the mysterious instrument and the fragmented memories of those involved, it shows how a concert expected to be disastrous became an iconic recording. Blending storytelling and inquiry, it reveals how chance, limitation and improvisation can spark extraordinary artistic creation.
