About
The 90s: Art and Fashion is an exhibition at Tate Britain exploring a decade of bold creativity and rebellious spirit that changed the face of British culture. It is curated by Edward Enninful OBE, whose lived experience of the decade informs the show, examining a period when a new generation of diverse creative talent fused art, design, fashion and photography into one potent cultural force. The exhibition brings together photography, fashion, art and design, including iconic images by photographers Juergen Teller, David Sims and Corinne Day, alongside artists like Steve McQueen, Damien Hirst, Sarah Lucas and Yinka Shonibare, plus collections by designers Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and John Galliano. It explores how long-held hierarchies were dismantled, with high art and pop culture feeding into one another, and reflects both the energy and the challenges of the decade.
