Masterclass: Andrew Graham-Dixon on Vermeer

A two-hour masterclass on the painter Vermeer, held in the historic Great Hall at Barts North Wing. Art historian, critic and broadcaster Andrew Graham-Dixon takes us inside Vermeer's paintings, exploring their composition, symbolism, technique and atmosphere through close looking. Drawing on years of research for his book Vermeer: A Life Lost and Found, named The Times Art Book of the Year 2025, he reveals the discoveries behind his new understanding of the artist and situates the works within the religious, political and social upheavals of the seventeenth century, including newly unearthed documents. Every ticket includes a copy of the new paperback edition of the book.
