About
Matthew Bourne's Cinderella is an Olivier Award-winning dance production returning to Sadler's Wells for its 30th anniversary. Created by Matthew Bourne, it reimagines the classic fairytale as a wartime romance: in London in 1940, Cinderella falls in love with a young RAF pilot, and the pair are pulled apart by the Blitz. The show features dazzling sets and costumes by Lez Brotherston and a dramatic score by Sergei Prokofiev layered with the sounds of war-torn London. First premiered in 1997, it has enchanted audiences for thirty years with its touching and thrilling storytelling.
