About
Meet Me in The Dressing Room is a solo performance show at the edge of history, in which a glittering showgirl of the apocalypse transforms her dressing room into a site of political organisation and resistance to a fascist moment. It is created and performed by Sophie, with an industrial soundscape by Vyvyan Stewardson built around Diane DiPrima's Revolutionary Letters and original costuming by Max Allen emblematic of leaders who offered radical hope. Through enigmatic and referential choreography, movement, live action and dirty tricks, the ritual nature of hope and defeat is embodied as the body is pushed to its extremes hoping to liberate the body politic. The show is completely self funded, with all profits going directly to the artists involved and tiered ticket prices, including free tickets for disabled persons' carers or companions.
