About

party done is a solo performance by London-based artist Samra Mayanja, staged in the Lower Gallery as part of the setting of Autumn Knight's exhibition. It presents the aftermath of a party that may have just ended or may never have begun, with a cargo net of balloons lowered and some escaped balloons strewn on the floor. Moving along a lightbox, Mayanja may pop some of the balloons with sharp implements. She conceived the piece in direct response to the exhibition's themes and brings her own stories of complaint into the gallery, rehearsing and reworking them in the space.
