About
A talk evening built around Mnemosyne Grove, a photography work that uses the olive tree to trace connections between land, family archives, migration and storytelling, drawing on the artist's Greek-Australian heritage through an olive grove in Palairos and the island of Ithaca. Australian artist Georgia Metaxas, now based in London, appears in conversation with Dr. Marta Weiss, Senior Curator of Photographs at the Victoria and Albert Museum, discussing the making of the book and how the work has evolved towards an investigation of photography's relationship to time, repetition, return and regeneration.
