About

"Reclaiming the Archives" is a hands-on creative workshop at which participants turn their personal photographs into a zine using stitch, writing and collage. It is facilitated by Caroline Lacoma, a London-based self-taught visual artist born in Guadeloupe whose work explores transformation, rebirth and the self. The workshop invites participants to consider the photographs they have inherited, collected or taken and the stories they tell about family, identity, memory and belonging. No previous artistic or zine-making experience is required, all materials are provided, and participants may bring printed photographs to work on.
