About

A shorts programme of films celebrating Greenlandic and Turtle Island storytellers, with a director Q&A. Kalaallisut artist Dennis Inuk Aningaaq Møller presents his Super 8 visual poetry, followed by nine Turtle Island films including a Louis Riel historical drama, animated spray-painted murals, Naskapi vampirism, and Cree astronomer 'Wilfred Buck's Star Stories'. Native Spirit is the UK's first and longest-running independent film festival promoting Native filmmakers, artists, narrative and visual sovereignty, and languages worldwide, founded by Mapuche leader Freddy Trequil. Some films contain themes of colonial violence.
