About

Nokshi Katha is a free 10-week workshop series teaching one of the oldest forms of embroidery in the world, a meditative craft from Bangladesh that upcycles old cloth into elaborate embroidered pieces. It is led by sustainable textile artist Shama Kun, an expert practitioner, who teaches the techniques used to create individual and collective works. Participants make colourful, detailed pieces inspired by a theme, such as "Women's Empowerment", which can be added to clothing or used as decorative art. No prior embroidery experience is needed, all materials are provided, and the group forms a vibrant and welcoming community.
