Meet Miss Nightingale: the nurse tells her own story.

Meet Miss Nightingale is a roughly 30-minute performance at the Florence Nightingale Museum, held on the second Saturday of every month. An actor playing the 'mother of modern nursing' tells her story in her own words: how she overcame societal pressures to become a nurse, why she went to the Crimea, how she earned the nickname 'the Lady with the Lamp', and how she improved conditions for soldiers and nurses. Visitors can then explore the museum, which houses many of her actual historical artifacts. The performances are free with admission, with no booking required.
