Observational Illustration & Transformation of Everyday Objects
Landmark Arts Centre, Ferry Road, TW11 9NN Teddington, Ham
About
A one-day workshop on observational illustration, working from real objects in pencil, pen and charcoal to explore line, form, light and dark, proportion and negative space. Those drawings then become starting points for imaginative transformations, such as turning a vase into a house or reimagining a telephone as an animal. It is taught by Molly Weston, an interdisciplinary artist with degrees in Art and Biology from the University of Washington whose work connects drawing with close observation of plant life and morphology. Participants bring one to four objects with interesting shapes from home, a sketchbook and art materials.
