About
October half term at the Royal Observatory is a programme of family activities at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, running from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November 2026. It is put on by Royal Museums Greenwich and offers astronomy talks, live demonstrations, tours and spooky Halloween events, including the Ghastly Greenwich Tour, a free Halloween trail, the Treasures Tour, lunar-themed activities around Luke Jerram's Mirror Moon sculpture and volunteer talks. All activities are included with admission except some tours, which cost extra, and they are suitable for ages 7 and over. The Observatory closes on 2 November for a major refurbishment, so this is the last chance to visit this year.
