A masterclass titled Once Upon a Time in Production: A Masterclass with Jacques Bidou, held at Birkbeck Cinema, 43 Gordon Square. Jacques Bidou, one of France's most renowned and risk-taking film producers, will discuss trends in independent production past and present, illustrated with extracts from his films. Over four decades he has delivered more than 30 award-winning features and 70 documentaries, working with directors from over 25 countries alongside his co-production partner Marianne Dumoulin. Chaired by Holly Aylett, the session covers building relationships between filmmakers and their projects, making impossible budgets add up, and handling the backstage deals that carry an international production to the screen.
