About

A Remembrance Sunday commemoration held at the War Memorial in Abney Park Cemetery, combining traditional ceremony elements with an address from a local Councillor, the laying of wreaths and music from Hackney Songworks and the Morris Folk Choir, closing with Steve Pretty playing the Last Post. Set in the grounds of the cemetery, a site of many Commonwealth War Graves, it offers time to remember those who lost their lives in conflicts across the world. The event is free and unticketed, so attendees can simply join on the day; dogs should be on a lead, the main path to the memorial is accessible though the area around it can be muddy, and the ceremony may be cancelled at short notice in inclement weather.
