Takács Quartet play Haydn, Carlos Simon and Brahms.

A string quartet concert at Wigmore Hall. The Takács Quartet, Wigmore Hall's Associate Artist, with Edward Dusinberre and Harumi Rhodes on violin, Richard O'Neill on viola and Mihai Marica on cello, plays Haydn's String Quartet in G Op. 77 No. 1, Carlos Simon's Warmth from Other Suns, and Brahms's String Quartet in C minor Op. 51 No. 1. Simon's three-movement score, inspired by Isabel Wilkerson's book of the same name, evokes the Great Migration of African-Americans from the rural South to the urban West, Midwest and Northeast, and confronts society's deepest divisions and injustices.
