About

MargaM is a free virtual reality experience presented on The Dance Floor, in which visitors wearing a VR headset journey through a virtual South Indian temple guided by Bharatanatyam, one of the world's oldest classical dance forms. It is created by dance artist Divya Kasturi in collaboration with digital technologists and partners, with collaborators including Clémence Debaig (Unwired Dance), Rebecca Evans (Pell Ensemble) and Samuel Lawrence (Samuel Lawrence Limited). Moving from the temple's entrance to its inner sanctum, participants encounter intricate dance moves held inside an original soundscape of voice, music and song. It is a first-of-its-kind project meeting ancient artistic tradition with pioneering technology, suitable for ages 12+ and running as a drop-in with 30-minute slots.
