About

An artist-led workshop exploring Garba, a living folk tradition from Gujarat in India, through songs, rhythmic clapping and rooted circular movement. It is led by Shahnal Shah, a London-based dance artist, teacher and facilitator with 25 years of experience across forms including Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Garba, Bhangra and Bollywood. Participants experience singing, clapping and movement together as an immersive, collective practice, then explore their own creative responses, with no previous experience required. The session is part of Sadler's Wells Artist Development Programme: Artist-Led Sessions and is also offered online.
