About
Birdvox bring their debut album Shamming The Drama to The Social as part of the London Roots Festival, playing twelve songs of joy, rage, connection and peace described as political disco, skewed-folk floor fillers and avian electronica. The band unites Sarah Hayes of Admiral Fallow, Inge Thomson, a longtime collaborator of Karine Polwart, SAY Award-nominated Jenny Sturgeon of Salt House, and Charlotte Printer, who has performed with Altered Images and Joesef. The record was produced by the band together with Peter Brewis of Field Music, and they sing in Scots, Shetland dialect, old Norn and English. Their live show has been praised as a standout, exciting and energetic meeting of boundary-pushing art and melody-based pop.
