About
A lecture about Gunung Mulu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Sarawak, covering its past, present and future. It is given by Nina Anuar from the park, drawing on her 13 years of service there, and takes us from the pre-World Heritage era through challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and unprecedented floods to today's tourism and World Heritage destination. Robin Hanbury-Tenison, who led the 1977/78 Royal Geographical Society and Sarawak Forestry survey of the park, will say a few words of welcome. The talk also highlights accommodation, community engagements, visitor trends and future opportunities.
